Jack and the Gentle Giant, presented by The Madcap Puppets Theatre Company, is a sequel to the famous fairy tale Jack and the Bean Stalk. This past Tuesday afternoon, the intersection of US-52 and Adamson Road in New Richmond was the scene of a terrible crash involving three motorcycles and a cement truck. The three motorcyclists were traveling together, eastbound on US-52, when one of them lost control and veered into oncoming traffic striking a cement truck. On Saturday, Jan. 7, one person was hospitalized after a multi-car accident on Interstate 75. The crash, which involved three cars, was reported about 10:15 p.m. on I-75 near Paddock Road. Emergency personnel said one of the drivers was ejected when their vehicle slammed into a median wall. The northbound lanes of I-75 were closed for two hours while emergency responders cleaned up the wreckage. The injured driver was rushed to University Hospital. Volunteers are invited to gather on Fountain Square from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 16, for Freestore Foodbank’s 4th Annual Power Pack-a-Thon! Participants will help pack food items into Power Packs, which provide nutritious meals to local school children who are at risk of chronic hunger on weekends.
