6 Sent to Area Hospitals After Cincinnatti Bus Accident
Around 8:30 Thursday morning, in the 5000 block of Winneste Avenue, in Winton Hills, a car hit a school bus in a head-on collision injuring three adults and sending three children to the hospital. According to the District 3 Fire Chief, the accident occurred when Phillip True, 27, crossed the yellow line and struck the bus. True’s car was wedged underneath the school bus and he suffered life-threatening injuries. He was trapped in the wreckage and had to be removed by the jaws of life. 18-year-old Dakota Reamer of Cleves, Ohio was riding his bicycle Friday night around 10:00 p.m. when he was struck by a car while crossing the intersection of U.S. Highway50 at Mount Nebo Road. He was hit by a 2006 Toyota Corolla driven by Mearl Smith, 44, from Fairfield. Smith was driving westbound when the crash occurred. He was not injured in the crash and has not been charged. According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department, Reamer wasn’t wearing any protective gear or reflective material.
