Cincinnati Driver Ejected in Yet Another Multi-Car Accident on I-75
On Saturday, Jan. 7, one person was hospitalized after a multi-car accident on Interstate 75.
The crash, which involved three cars, was reported about 10:15 p.m. on I-75 near Paddock Road.
Emergency personnel said one of the drivers was ejected when their vehicle slammed into a median wall.
The northbound lanes of I-75 were closed for two hours while emergency responders cleaned up the wreckage.
The injured driver was rushed to University Hospital.
Unfortunately, this weekend’s three-car accident is not the only multi-vehicle incident that I-75 has played host to in recent days.
On Jan. 3, eight people were injured in a 41-vehicle pileup that shut down southbound I-75 for hours.
Scattered snow showers pelted southern Ohio and northern Kentucky, causing cars and other vehicles to collide on a portion of I-75 lying between Cincinnati and Crittenden.
Kentucky’s Kenton County Police Department, which responded to the major accident, issued a statement saying six of the injured were taken to hospitals, but none of the injuries was life-threatening.
That afternoon, 23 vehicles had to be towed before southbound lanes could be reopened.
I-75 was shut down for nearly two hours after a nine-car pileup only a few days before that, on Dec. 30.
The crash occurred shortly before 3:00 p.m. in the northbound lanes above Dixie Highway.
A dump truck rear-ended a car, police officials stated, leading to a chain-reaction crash in which two cars caught fire.
Two people were injured and taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
When multi-vehicle accidents happen, it is often hard to determine who should be held responsible for causing the crash. As in the Jan. 3 crash, environmental factors might play the largest role. In other cases, however, there is a party whose negligent actions may be deemed the cause of an accident and thus the cause of any injuries a man, woman, or child involved in a car accident received.
